Interdisciplinary qualification offers for a successful doctorate
The interdisciplinary workshop and networking program offers the possibility to acquire various key qualifications for an academic career. Thereby, we always have the interests of early career researchers in mind and plan events tailored to their needs.
The qualification program is organized jointly by all Universities of Applied Sciences (皇冠足球体育_足球比分直播￥中国竞彩网) in Saxony-Anhalt. Participation is thus free of charge to all 皇冠足球体育_足球比分直播￥中国竞彩网 doctoral students in the federal state.

Good Scientific Practice
Doctoral candidates at Merseburg University of Applied Sciences - like all employees and students - are obliged to comply with good scientific practice (GWP).
To this end, the university is currently developing a “Statute for Safeguarding Good Scientific Practice and Dealing with Suspected Cases of Scientific Misconduct”. This is based on the “Guidelines for Safeguarding Good Scientific Practice” of the German Research Foundation (DFG).
It is recommended that all doctoral candidates complete further training courses on GWP during the course of their doctorate, ideally during the first year of their doctorate. In four out of five doctoral centers (with the exception of the Doctoral Center for Social, Health and Economic Sciences), an “introduction to good scientific practice” is mandatory according to the doctoral regulations. You are free to choose where you attend courses on GWP. Choose the format that suits you best. On the one hand, many universities, colleges and research institutions offer courses and further training on the subject.
On the other hand, the universities of applied sciences (皇冠足球体育_足球比分直播￥中国竞彩网) in Saxony-Anhalt have developed their own GWP course program for their doctoral students. This comprises two paths to the GWP certificate:
- a one-day event in presence, rotating at all 皇冠足球体育_足球比分直播￥中国竞彩网s in Saxony-Anhalt
- Online modules in which the compulsory basic module can be combined with freely selectable focus modules. You will receive your certificate of attendance if you can prove that you have attended at least 8 hours of GWP courses.

Ombudspersons
Ombudspersons are experienced university lecturers who are appointed by the Senate on the recommendation of the Rectorate. They are the point of contact for university members who wish to report allegations of academic misconduct. As a person of trust, the ombudsperson advises those who inform them of suspected academic misconduct and takes up relevant information of which they become aware (possibly via third parties) on their own initiative. Every member of the university has the right to speak to the ombudsperson personally within a short period of time.

The events offered in the interdisciplinary qualification program are also open to doctoral students from Otto von Guericke University, Magdeburg. At the same time, doctoral students from the 皇冠足球体育_足球比分直播￥中国竞彩网s in Saxony-Anhalt participate in the OvGU's qualification programs free of charge.
The Coordination Office for Gender Research & Equal Opportunities Saxony-Anhalt (KGC) offers free workshops, seminars, coaching and mentoring as part of MeCoSa MINT Career, especially for female students and graduates in the STEM fields and economics.

To make it easier for you to attend the events on-site, you can take advantage of the following support services if needed.
Members of Merseburg university of applied sciences with childcare responsibilities can contact the Family Office for some support services. Please feel free to inform yourself on the website if needed /familie (only available in German).
Participants can apply for a travel allowance for each attendance at events within the scope of the qualification program.
You can apply for educational leave to attend our workshops if your employer is located in Saxony-Anhalt. Please contact Kerstin T?nzer on behalf of the association.
